Aims and Scope

The workshop aims at supporting the exchange of ideas between the fields of Algebraic Geometry and Geometric Modelling. Topics of interest include

  • Geometry of curves and surfaces
  • Rational/implicit representation
  • Resultant constructions and implicitization
  • Singularity, detection and analysis
  • Classification of curves and surfaces
  • Intersection, resolution
  • Approximate/certified methods
  • Computer Implementations of Algorithmic Algebraic Geometry

2. Registration: Fill in the form (doc-file, txt-file) and send it with the abstract of your talk (plain text) to compass2007@ig.jku.at.
The deadline for registration is end of July 2007.
   
Accommodation / Conference Fee
   
 

Accommodation is available at the Federal Institute of Adult Education (Bifeb).
The rate is:
Single room: € 57,50 / per day
Double room: € 46,50 / per day / per person
including full board.

There is no conference fee.

Airports: Munich, Salzburg, Vienna
The most convenient airports are Salzburg and Munich.

Bus from Salzburg to Strobl (1 hour): A bus connects the airport with the train station. From there, you can catch Bus No. 150 at Bus bay No. 5 to Bad Ischl, which stops in Strobl. The bus usually leaves at 15 or 25 minutes past the full hour (see bus schedule).
